RISCPA recently became the first state society to receive a Real Jobs grant. This first of its kind program provides college juniors and seniors (pursuing a degree in accounting or financial services) an exclusive opportunity to participate in a FREE world class training program.
Students will receive leadership development and “soft skills” training at NO COST and a $100 weekly stipend for their participation. The RI Society of CPAs (RISCPA) has partnered with Real Jobs RI, leading Rhode Island public accounting firms and Rhode Island College to launch this program, known as the Accounting & Financial Collaborative Industry Collaborative. The program is open to college juniors and seniors who have completed (or are in the process of completing) intermediate accounting curriculum and will be entering accounting and financial sector jobs in Rhode Island. Additional partners will be added throughout the grant program.
In addition to leadership development, students will be trained in sales, presentations and public speaking, social media, thought leadership, personal branding, marketing, networking, project management, financial literacy and more.
The first 5-week session launches May 28th. The program will run for weeks, 3 hours per day [see Course Calendar]. The majority of the classes will be held at the RISCPA Training Center at 40 Sharpe Drive, Unit 5, Cranston, RI.
- Bus transportation passes are available to participating students
- Participants will receive a $100 weekly stipend, based on attendance.
Each participant will have the opportunity to work with RISPCA leadership and state and industry leaders as they build their personal brand and career.
