The Rhode Island Division of Taxation announced that any filings and payments due on June 15, 2020 are postponed to July 15, 2020. No interest and penalties will apply if a payment is made by July 15, 2020. Taxpayers do not need to request this relief to apply.
The Rhode Island Division of Taxation asks that taxpayers in the position to pay and file to please do so before the new deadline. It helps provide the state with essential funding during this crisis and allows the Governor, the General Assembly, and other state decision-makers to plan and protect Rhode Island’s economy.
You may have received vouchers and instructions for filing indicating a June 15, 2020 due date for the Rhode Island estimated tax payment. You may disregard the due date and pay by July 15, 2020.
