Following the federal income tax filing and payment deadline extensions, due to COVID-19, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, and fellow state leaders announced the extension of both the 2019 state individual income tax filing and payment deadline from April 15 to July 15, 2020. We are still waiting for clarification of the due date of the first quarter estimated tax payment due April 15, 2020. Taxpayers do not need to file any additional forms to qualify for the extension. We would like to encourage our clients to continue to file as early as possible and not wait for the new deadline extensions for a number of reasons:
- Gain access to your refund earlier, should you qualify
- File now and pay later
- Plan now (gain a better financial picture) for the months ahead
- Take advantage of help now to avoid the rush that July 15th will bring
We are continuing to serve you to the best of our abilities during the pandemic. We are regularly monitoring changes and how they may affect you and/or your business. Please contact us with your questions.
